Who is facilitating the session?
The session is facilitated by Wendy, a late discovered AuDHDer. A few words from Wendy below
I am so honoured to be offering this space to other women who, like me, may be on their re-discovery journey. 1 year on from my ADHD and Autism diagnosis (age 51), I feel so much more connected to my true self (Which is where the name for the group came from). True self rising is the phrase that sits right at this point in my journey because the re-discovery process is an on-going one. It’s filled with hope, relief and possibility alongside grief and sadness.
I’ve engaged in therapy and coaching to help me on the journey and I had the opportunity to tell my story through body painting which really helped (see picture). I’ve also had fantastic support from the Late Discovered Club circles, online community and connection spaces. I’m still in touch with a group of 6 women who I met at my post discovery circle, and it really helps to have a tribe who understand. https://www.thelatediscoveredclub.com/
I’m now in a place where I’m ready to give something back. I love facilitating spaces and it feels like a natural next step for me to start this group in hope that I can help and provide a safe and welcoming space for others to accept, be or find their true selves too.
